GCSE Equivalency Tests

Where potential candidates do not have the required GCSE equivalents, or they are unable to find or obtain originals of their qualifications, LoNoCo @ Middlesex University will offer equivalency tests as detailed below.

Maths, English and Science GCSE Equivalency tests are available periodically. For further information and to book your place on a test please visit the A Star Teachers website.

Tests will be in the style of GCSE papers and will examine the scope of each GCSE syllabus.

  • Maths will test Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry
  • English will test Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing
  • Science will test Biology, Physics, Chemistry

Successful candidates will receive a certificate and will be able to progress their application.

Candidates can prepare for the tests by using GCSE revision guides, available from bookshops and public libraries.

Please note that GCSE English and mathematics (and GCSE science for primary applicants) or their equivalent are a requirement for entry to any teacher training programme. You must supply evidence of successful completion of the GCSE or equivalent qualifications when you submit your application, if your application is to be considered for a place on the programme. We are unable to consider any application with GCSE results pending.
