You have read the section of this website which describes the Overseas Trained Teacher programme and you accept the terms and conditions under which the programme operates.

You are qualified as a teacher in a country outside the European Community.

Your teaching qualification enables you to teach in the phase (primary, secondary, etc) that you are working in at present. You can supply the original certificate of your teaching qualification.

You have a first degree (B.A., B.Sc., etc), or equivalent and you can supply the original certificate from the awarding University. For an application in secondary teaching, your degree must be mainly in the subject that you intend to teach. For a primary application, your degree should be substantially related to the National Curriculum, or to Education.

You hold GCSE grade C, or equivalent, in Mathematics and English, or you are willing to sit an accepted equivalence test. All primary applicants must also hold grade C, or equivalent in a science subject. You are able to supply original certificates from the awarding bodies.

You are employed by a school, which is willing to support your application.

You agree that the information you provide here and on subsequent application forms will be entered on the Training and Development Agency for Schools database and may be shared with Ofsted, for monitoring purposes and with other Initial Teacher Training Organisations and Designated Recommending Bodies. Once a place is offered and accepted, Consortium tutors, mentors, moderators and assessors will also have access to the information, in order to provide you with appropriate support.

The organisations mentioned above may also be provided with information on your progress and achievement on the programme.
