Visas and Work Permits
Applicants born outside of the European Community (EC)
Applicants who were not born in the EC are required to provide further information regarding their current status on their application form. This includes detail such as dates of entry to the EC and the date indefinite leave to remain was granted. If you have any queries regarding such issues you should visit the Passports and Immigration section of the Home Office website.
All overseas candidates are required to provide passport and visa and/or leave to remain papers as original documentation, along with qualifications, when making an application.
Applicants who require a permit or visa to work in the UK
The system of visas and work permits has been replaced, from March 2009, by a points based system for those wishing to work in the UK. If you need a sponsor, under the new scheme, make enquiries to your employer. Your school or your Local Authority may be registered as a sponsor. Further details of the scheme are available at the Home Office website.
